The median of observation 11,12,14,18,x+2,22,23,25and61 arranged in ascending order is 21. find the value of x.

tha median = 9+1/2 th observation

= 10/2 = 5th observation


Median = 5th obs = x+2

Median = 21

x+2 = 21

x = 21-2

x = 19

median= (9+1/2)th observation..

→we had given that median = 21
→ 21 = 10/2th observation
→ 21 = 5th observation
.... 5th observation = x +2....
→21 = x+2
→21-2=x
→x = 21 -2 = 19
......
