To find the median of the given data, put the data in ascending order

20, 27, 29, 35, 38, 42,43, 48, 55, 60

Here total observations are 10

I.e. even; So median is mean of
 \frac{ n}{2} \: and \: {( \frac{n}{2} + 1)}^{th} term\\\\
So,

 \frac{10}{2} = 5 \\ \\ \frac{10}{2} + 1 = 6 \: element \\ \\
5th element = 38

6th element = 42

Median = \frac{38 + 42}{2} \\ \\ = \frac{80}{2} \\ \\ = 40 \\ \\

Option (1) is correct.

Hope it helps you.
