(X+2)+(X+4)/2=24

(2X+6)/2=24

2(X+3)/2=24

X+3=24

X=24-3

X=21

Answer:

The value of x is 21.

Step-by-step explanation:

The given data is

14,18,x+2,x+4,30,34

It is given that the following observation are arrange in ascending order.

The total number of observations is 6, which is an even number.

Median=\frac{\frac{n}{2}\text{th term}+(\frac{n}{2}+1)\text{th term}}{2}

Median=\frac{\frac{6}{2}\text{th term}+(\frac{6}{2}+1)\text{th term}}{2}

Median=\frac{3\text{th term}+4\text{th term}}{2}

The median of the data is 24.

24=\frac{x+2+x+4}{2}

48=2x+6

2x=42

Divide both sides by 2.

x=21

Therefore the value of x is 21.
