the term medieval period refers to the sultanateperiod in North india and chola period in South india.
in Europe the medieval period is known as the middle ages.it started around 5thcentury AD and lasted up the 16th century AD. in india it covers period from the 8th century AD to the 18th century AD.This period is more close to us than the ancient period.
