the melting points of two solids a and b are 300k and 350k respectively.which solid has maximum magnitude of inter particle forces?

The Melting points actually depend upon the the Inter-molecular forces of attraction. 

That is, Substances with high Inter-particle forces will have higher melting points while those with low inter-particle forces have lower melting points.

Hence, out of the two solids 'a' and 'b', 
'b' has a higher magnitude of inter-particle forces because it has a higher melting point than 'a'

∴ Strength of Inter-particle forces: b > a
