Pakal was born in 603 CE ,was one of the powerful rulers of Maya empire in the Mesoamerican region.

He became the king at a very young age of 12 and ruled for nearly 70 years. When he was crowned king of Palenque it was in a very fragile and difficult situation .Under his long and durable leadership it rose to great power and prestige and  became the most dominating city in the western Maya lands.When he died in 683 CE he was put to rest in a beautiful tomb in the Temple of the Inscriptions in Palenque.
