For centuries, one of the most divisive elements in our life has been a woman and a gentleman, religion.

We know that religion can be a force for peace or war. It can cure or hurt. It can create or destroy a predictable scale.

In this background of human weakness and weakness, this great man was born in a village about 40 miles away from Lahore in north-western India.

He had lived a spiritual and humble life for 70 years, gave the world the great religion of Sikhism.

The major teachings of Baba Guru Nanak are in form of hymns and teachings.

1) he advocated a form of “NIRGUNA BHAKTI”.

2) he rejected sacrifices, ritual baths, image worship, and the scriptues of both Hindu and Muslims.

3) For Guru Nanak the absolute or “rab” had no gender or form.

4) He proposed a simple way to connect to the Divine by remembering and repeating the Divine name, expressing his ideals through hymns called “shabad” in punjabi, the language of the region Baba Guru Nanak organised his followers into community.
