The number of cubes of side 2cm can be placed in the metal  box is 24.

Explanation:

Given : Dimensions of metal box is in the shape of cuboid:

length= 8cm, breadth  =4cm and height 6cm

Volume of metal box = length x breadth x height

= 8 x 4 x 6 = 192 cubic cm

Side length of cube = 2 cm

Volume of cube = side³ =2³ = 8 cubic cm.

Now , the number of cubes of side 2cm can be placed in the metal  box would be

(Volume of metal box) ÷ (Volume of cube)

= 192 ÷ 8= 24

Hence, the number of cubes of side 2cm can be placed in the metal  box is 24.
