Answer:

'The Rattrap' is a heartwarming story illustrating how a simple act of kindness can transform one's life for the better.

It's protagonist is a poor peddler who went about selling rattraps for a living and did some petty thievery on the side to make ends meet. Once, while thinking about his rattraps, he formulated an interesting philosophy that proclaimed that the whole world, or life as we know it, is nothing but a giant rattrap. It tempts the innocent people with joys, riches and happiness and once one attains these goals, it closes on him, and everything comes to an end.

Albeit a flawed principle made due to the peddler's own resentment of life and his aim to elevate his own stature by convincing himself that everyone else had it worse, it does have a certain truth to it.

Humans have forever been in pursuit of success and pleasure, and somewhere along the way, greed blurs the line between right and wrong. One becomes so consumed by desires that he loses sight of what is truly important - love ,kindness and the human spirit.

Hope this helps! :)
