Let assume AB is line and L is midpoint of AB
therefore ,
L(-4,2)
let A(-6,4) and B(x,y)

according to the midpoint formula

(-4,-2) = (-6+x/2 , 4+y/2)

when we say that two co-ordinate are equal then x co-ordinate of one point must be equal x co-ordinate of onother point , similarly for y also.

-4 = -6+x/2
-8 = -6+x
x = -8+6
x = -2

-2 = 4+y/2
y+4 = -4
y = -4-4
y = -8

therefore co-ordinate of second point
i.e B = x,y =-2,-8
