Step-by-step explanation:

hello friends....

here is the solution you looking for

given that

midpoint of line segment joining the points (5, 7) and (3, 9) is also the midpoint of line segment joining the point (8, 6) and (a, b)

we have to find a and b =?

solution:-

at first

let (x,y) are the mid point of the two points A(5,7)

and B(3,9)

here using mid point formula

x=(x1+x2)/2 = (5+3)/2 = 8/2 = 4

and

y= (y1+ y2)/2 = (7+9)/2 = 16/2 =8

the coordinates of mid point are (4,8)

According to question ,

(4,8) is also the mid point of points C(8,6) and D(a,b)

=> 4 = (8+a)/2 => 8= 8+a => a= 0

and also

=> 8= ( 6+b)/2 => 16 = 6+b

=> b = 16-6 = 10

hence

a= 0 & b= 10 answers

Answer:

(7, 2)

Step-by-step explanation:

Point 1 (5, 6)

Point 2 (9, -2)

Mid point is given by (\frac{x_{1}+x_{2}}{2},\frac{y_{1}+y_{2}}{2})

So,

( (5+9)/2, (6-2)/2 ) = (7, 2)
