Let the middle of the three digit number be zero.

Let the first digit be -> x
Let the last digit be -> y

If we put 7 at the place of x and 3 at the place of y,
we see that the number formed is 703 - equation (i)

On reversing the digits,
we see that the number formed is 307 - equation (ii)

equation (i) - equation (ii)

703 -307 = 396
