THE MIDNIGHT VISITOR by Robert Arthur

(1)

Ausable did not look like a secret agent. He was a fat man of small stature. Which did not match the  conventional image of a secret agent. He was also not able to speak French and German fluently. Despite all this, Ausable was an intelligent man. He made two stories, like a skilled detective, by scanning the spotlight of two occasions. In this way he was a clever secret agent who was able to make any kind of story in front of the imminent threat.

(2)

The hotel's waiter knocked on the door where Ausable had stayed. When Ausable came to the hotel with Fowler, he ordered a drink.
