Midpoint of AB is (3,5)
Midpoint of AC is (-3,-3)
By using DISTANCE FORMULA
i.e. root [(x2-x1)square + (y2-y1) square]
assuming (3,5) as x1 and y1 and (-3,-3) as x2 and y2
Root [(-3-3)square + (-3-5)square]
Root [(-6)square + (-8)square ]
Root [36 + 64]
Root 100
=10
As the length of line segment joining midpoints of AB and AC is 10 , therefore length of BC = 20.
[ In any triangle , line joining the mid - points of two sides will always be parallel to the third side and is half of it. ]
Ans BC = 20.
