Answer: S = 8 m

Explanation:

static friction coefficient μ = 0.4.

acceleration due to gravity = g = 10 m/s

u =a/g  

0.4 = a/10  

a = 4m/s^-

acceleration a = 4 m/s²

Given:  

V= 8m/s u=0 a= 4m/s^2  

v^2-u^2 = 2as  

8^2 -0^2 = 2×4×s  

64 -0 = 8 s  

S = 8 m
