Using calculas method

Differentiate with respect to x =

d/dx = 2x+1

now to find minimum

equate d/dx=0

2x+1=0

x=-1/2

Now substitute x=-1/2 in polynomial

we get , (1/2)²-1/2-2

=1/4-1/2-2

=-1/4-2

= -9/4

Answer = \orange{option \ (c) \ -9/4}
