Area = 264 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

  • Length of minute hand of clock is 12 cm.
  • Time for which minute hand swept is 35 minutes.

To Find:

  • How much area is swept by hand of clock in that time ?

Solution: As we know that angle swept by minute hand in 1 minutes is equal to 6°.

∴ Angle swept in 35 minutes

= 6 × 35

= 210°

So now we have

  • θ = 210°
  • r = 12 cm

A/q

  • Area swept by minute hand = Area of sector

★ Area of sector = θ/360 × πr² ★

  • taking π = 22/7

\implies{\rm } Area = 210/360 × 22/7 × 12²

\implies{\rm } 7/12 × 22/7 × 144

\implies{\rm } 154/84 × 144

\implies{\rm } 22176/84

\implies{\rm } 264 cm²

Hence area swept by minute hand that period of time is 264 cm².
