Distance covered = 44 cm

Displacement = 28 cm

Explanation:

Length of minute hand of clock = 14 cm

From 10 AM to 10:30 AM, the minute hand will complete one half circle

The radius R of this circle will be the length of the minute clock

Therefore, the distance covered

=\pi\times R

=\frac{22}{7}\times 14

=44 cm

From 10 AM to 10:30 AM, the displacement of the tip of the minute hand will be twice the length of the minute hand

Hence, displacement

=2R

=2\times 14

=28 cm

Hope this answer is helpful.

Distance covered = 44 cm

Displacement = 28 cm

Explanation:

Length of the minute hand = radius of the clock = r = 14 cm.

From 10 am to 10:30 am, the tip of the minute hand moves to diametrically opposite point on the clock.

So Displacement = Diameter of the clock = 2r = 28 cm

Total distance covered by the minute hand = (1/2) circumference of the clock = πr = 22/7 * 14 = 44 cm.
