Step-by-step explanation:

length of a Minute hand of a clock

= radius of the circle = r = 7 cm

Minute hand move 2 × Pie × r distance in 1 hour

=> In one hour ,

minute hand move = 2 × Pie × r

=> In 60 min. ,

minute hand move = 2 × Pie × r

=> in 1 min. ,

minute hand move =

( 2 × Pie × r ) / 60

=> In 40 min. ,

minute hand move

=( 2 × Pie × r ) × 40 / 60

= 2 ×( 22 / 7 ) × 7 × 40 / 60

= 2 × 22 × 40 / 60

= 2 × 22 × 4 /6 = 2 × 22 × 2 /3

= 88 / 3 = 29.33 cm

HEY

Actually welcome to the World of Time and Distance

Whats happening here just making u some understand that here time is decreased to 40 mins means ur answer will be less than what should u find in 60 min..

Now coming to ur question

In 60 min it will move 2pie r

Now time decreased to 40 min ..

means 40/60 = 2/3

u have to find 2 pie . r .2/3

Now put the value

2 × 22/7 × 7 ×2/3

=88/3 is ur answer

SORRY if mistaken in any calculation
