Answer :-

  • Distance = 22 cm
  • Displacement = 14 cm

Explanation :-

For finding distance:

★ The exact path taken by the minute hand will be thdistance covered by it.

★ This distance is the area swept by the minute hand in moving from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM.

From 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM, the clock travels in a semicircular path.

Distance = Area of semicircle

⇒ Distance = πr

⇒ Distance = 22/7 × 7

⇒ Distance = 22 cm

For finding the displacement:

Displacement is the shortest possible length that could be travelled by the clock.

Displacement = Diameter of the clock

⇒ Displacement = 2 × radius

⇒ Displacement = 2 × 7

⇒ Displacement = 14 cm
