in 1 min , minute hand travels 6 degree ,
so in 35 min it travels 35× 6 degrees ie 210 degree
now angle in minor sector of the circle formed by minute hand is 360-210 =150 degrees
so area of minor sector = theta / 360 × π r^ 2
substitute the values
ie 150/ 360 × 22/7 × 8× 8 =83.80
now find the area of circle and subtract the area of minor sector from it u will get the area swept by the minute hand .
area of circle = 22/7 × 8×8 = 201.14
now area swept = 201.14 - 83.80=117.34 cm^2
hope this helps my frnd.
