Given : The modal class is 10 - 15

Classes       0-5    5 - 10  10 - 15    15 - 20   20 - 25

Frequency     7        6             f            4          3

To Find : Value of  f

a) f < 8

b) f ≥ 8

c) f > 8 only

d) f < 7

Solution:

Classes       0-5    5 - 10  10 - 15    15 - 20   20 - 25

 Frequency     7        6             f            4          3

10 - 15 is modal class Hence

f must be greater than 7

Hence  f  ≥ 8

Correct option is  b) f ≥ 8

Answer:

Here, we can see class 10−15 has maximum number of frequency.

∴  Modal class =10−15

Then we have,

l=10,f0=3,f1=10,f2=1 and h=5

Since,

Mode=l+2f1−f0−f2f1−f0×h

=10+2×10−3−110−3×5

=10+2.18

=12.18

∴  Mode=12.18

Hence, this is the answer.
