firstly, we must arrange them in ascending order.....i.e
20,21,21,22,23,23,23,24,25

=> mode(it is the repeating term of any given data) = 23
=> median(it is the middle term of any given data) = 23

Given:

21, 23,25,23,21,24,22,20,23

To find:

Mode and median

Solution:

The required values of mode and median are 23, 23. (Option a)

We can obtain the given data's mode by picking out the number with the greatest frequency of occurring.

The data given is as follows-

21, 23, 25, 23, 21, 24, 22, 20, 23

Out of these, the mode's value is 23 as it appears thrice.

Now, we will arrange the data from smallest to highest.

The data rearranged is as follows-

20, 21, 21, 22, 23, 23, 23, 24, 25

The total numbers in the data=9

Since the numbers are odd, the value of the median will be ((n+1)/2) term.

The (n+1)/2 term=(9+1)/2=10/2=5th term

The data's 5th term=median=23

So, median and mode are the same.

Therefore, the required values of mode and median are 23, 23.
