after Henry Moseley showed in 1913 that ,"the atomic number of an element is a more fundamental property than its atomic mass" ,mendeleeve periodic table was modified to modern form of periodic table ...

advantage of modern periodic table :

● elements were arranged according to their increasing atomic number

● and the modern periodic table is esy to remember and reproduce . the systematuc grouping of elements into four blocks that is s p d and f has made the study of classification more simple

● since this classification was based on atomic number not on atomic mass so isotope of elements are placed at the same position that of the element

limitation of modern periodic table :

● still the hydrogen is not given a fixed position ..

● lanthanoids and actinoids series are also one limitation of modern periodic table
