Conc. sulfuric acid is 98% and 18.4M (simple can be worked out by its density). Also, 0.5N = 0.25 M

(X mL/Y mL) * 18.4M = 0.25M, where Y=the volume you want to make.

X= (0.25M/18.4M) * Y mL

So if we want to make 1 L; X= (0.25M/18.4M)*1000 mL

X= 13.6 mL

To make it, take ~900 mL of water and slowly add 13.6 mL of conc. acid, then make it up to the 1000 mL mark.
