Answer: The mole fraction of solvent in 0.1 molal aqueous solution is 0.9982. Explanation: 1 molal aqueous solution means that 1 mol/kg that is 1 mol of solute is present in the 1000 g of the water(here the aqueous means that solvent is water).

Hello dear,

● Answer -
Mole Fraction Of Solvent Is 0.9703

● Explaination -
# Given -
Solvent = water
Molality = 1.7 mol

# Solution -
Molality of solute is -
m = n2 / W1
1.7 = n2 / 1
n2 = 1.7 moles

Moles of solvent are given by -
n1 = W1 / M1
n1 = 1000 / 18
n1 = 55.56 moles

Mole fraction of solvent is calculated by -
X1 = n1 / (n1+n2)
X1 = 55.56 / (1.7+55.56)
X1 = 0.9703

Therefore, mole fraction of solvent is 0.9703 .

Hope this helps you...
