answer : option (d) mNv²

explanation : mass of a gaseous molecule = m

number of molecule per unit volume = N

Let volume of container = V

then, number of molecules in container = NV

and momentum of each molecule = mv

so, momentum of total molecule = (NV)mv

we know, pressure = force/Area

= (momentum/time )/Area

= {(NV)mv/t}A

= (NAl)mv/At [ volume, V = Al ]

= Nmv × (l/t)

= Nmv² [ as we know, velocity= displacement/time ]

hence, option (d) is correct choice.

Answer:

d) 2mNv^2

pressure=Force/Area

               =(Momentum/Time)/Area

               =Nmv^2
