Question :-

  • The momentum of a force of 10N about a fixed point O is 50N m. Calculate the distance of the point O from the line of action of the force.

Given :-

  • Force, F = 10N
  • momentum, m = 50N

To find :-

  • the distance of the point O from the line of action of the force

Solution :-

We know,

 \longrightarrow \sf momentum = froce \times distance \\

 \longrightarrow \sf 50 = distance \times 10 \\

 \longrightarrow \sf distance = \cancel \frac{50}{10} \\

 \longrightarrow \sf distance = 5m \\

Hence, the distance of the point O from the line of action of the force is 5m.
