It is obtained by polymerization of 1,3-Butadiene & styrene in the ratio 3:1 in the presence of sodium. In Buna –S, Bu stands for butadiene,na for sodium & S for styrene.It is also called SBR(Styrene Butadiene Rubber). It has slightly less tensile strength than natural rubber.
