the monthly expenses of a student have increased from rupees 350 to rupee 500. find the ratio of (1) increase in expenses to original expenses .(2) original expenses to increased expenses. (3)increased expenses to increase in expenses.

(1) increase in expence=150
Ratio 150/350= 3:7
(2)350/ 500= 7:10
(3)500/ 150= 10:3

The ratio of (i) increase in expenses to original expenses is 3:7

(ii)original expenses to increased expenses is 7:10

(iii)Ratio of increased expenses to increase in expenses is 10:3

  • Increase in the expenses is 500 - 350 = Rs. 150.

(i) Ratio of increase in expenses to original expenses

Ratio = \frac{Increase \ in \ expenses}{original \ expenses}

Ratio = \frac{150}{350}

Ratio = 3:7

(ii) Ratio of original expenses to increased expenses

Ratio = \frac{original \ expenses}{Increased \ expenses}

Ratio = \frac{350}{500}

Ratio = 7:10

(iii) Ratio of increased expenses to increase in expenses

Ratio = \frac{increased \ expenses}{Increase \ in \ expenses}

Ratio = \frac{500}{150}

Ratio = 10:3
