Median =(2n+1​)th

             =(27+1​)th

             =4th

             =1400

(ii) If one more household with monthly salary 1500 is added

then, arranging the income in ascending order

1000,1000,1200,1400,1500,1500,1600,10000

Here n=8

Meadian = mean of (n​/2)th and (n​/2+1)th observations

              =mean of (8/2​)th and (8/2+1)th observation

              =mean of (4)th and (5)th observations

              = 21400+1500​

              =1450
