how to find median :
1. Put all the numbers in numerical order.
2. If there is an odd number of results, the median is the middle number.

given : 1200, 1500, 1400, 1000, 1000, 1600, 10000
in numerical order : 1000, 1000, 1200, 1400, 1500, 1600, 10000.

here there are 7 results
so, median is the middle number of numerical order. hence, median is 1400.

hence, median income of the house holds = 1400

Dear Student,

Answer: 1400 Rupees

Solution:

1) Arrange all the data in ascending order.

1000, 1000, 1200, 1400, 1500, 1600, 10000

2) Count the numbers.

n = 7

3) As number of count odd:

So elements
 \frac{n + 1}{2} \\ \\ = \frac{7 + 1}{2} \\ \\ = 4
4) So, 4 th element is the median

1400 Rs

hope it helps you.
