Given : The monthly income of 100 families

To Find :  the modal income.

Solution:

0 – 5000                     8

5000 – 10000            26

10000 – 15000           41

15000 – 20000           16

20000 – 25000          3

25000 – 30000         3

35000 – 40000          1

Max frequency 41 of group = 10000 – 15000

Modal Income = 10000  +  5000 * (41 - 26) / ( 41 - 26 + 41 - 16)
