Given :-

  • The monthly income of A and B are in ratio 7:5 and their expenditure are in ratio 3:2 if each saves 1500 rupees.

To find :-

  • Find income of A and B

Solution :-

Let the monthly income be x

  • A's income = 7x
  • B's income = 5x.

Now, let their expenditure be y

  • A's expenditure = 3y
  • B's expenditure = 2y

Each of saves Rs.1500

According to the given condition

  • 7x - 3y = 1500 --(i)
  • 5x - 2y = 1500 --------(ii)

Multiply (i) by 2 and (ii) by 3

  • 14x - 6y = 3000
  • 15x - 6y = 4500

Subtract both the equations

→ (14x - 6y) - (15x - 6y) = 3000 - 4500

→ 14x - 6y - 15x + 6y = - 1500

→ 14x - 15x = - 1500

→ - x = - 1500

→ x = 1500

Hence,

  • Income = Rs.1500

Therefore,

  • A's income = 7x = Rs.10500
  • B's income = 5x = Rs.7500
