Step-by-step explanation:

let the monthly income of A be Rs. X

let the monthly Income of B be Rs. Y

ATQ

• monthly income of A = 50% more than that of B

50/100 y + y

X = 3y/2

• expenditure of A = Rs. 50 more than expenditure of B

30% of X = 40% of B + 50

30/100 X = 40 / 100 y +50

3x/10 = 2y/5 + 50

NOW SUBSTITUTING VALUE OF X

3/10(3y/2) = 2y/5 + 50

9y/20 - 8y/20 = 50

y/20 = 59

y = 1000

hence, X will be

X = 3y/2

X = 3 x 1000/ 2

X = 1500

Hence, the income of A is Rs. 1000 and income of B is Rs. 1500
