income of A / income of B = 9/7

i.e for some x,

income of A= 9x and income of B= 7x

expenditure of A / expenditure of B = 4/3

i.e for some y,

expenditure of A= 4y and expenditure of B= 3y

Savings= Income-expenditure

∴For first person,

1) 2000= 9x-4y

For second person,

2) 2000= 7x-3y

(2)*4-(1)*3 (solving the eqns by elimination)

28x-12y= 8000

27x-12y= 6000

x= 2000

y= 4000

∴Income of A= 9*2000= 18000

Income of B= 7*2000= 14000
