Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

The monthly incomes of a and b are in the ratio of 9 : 7 and their monthly expenditure are in the ratio of 4 : 3. Each saves Rs. 1600 per month.

To find:-

Formulate two seperate equations For A and B, expressing the above situation.

Solution:-

The ratio of the monthly incomes of A and B=9:7

Let the income of A =9x

Let the income of B=7x

Ratio of monthly expenditures of A and B=4:3

Let the expenditure of A=4y

Let the expenditure of B=3y

Savings of A and B=Rs. 1600

We know that

Income -Expenditure=Savings

Now equation for A=9x-4y=1600

Equation of B=7x-3y=1600

Answer:-

The equation for A=9x-7y=1600 or 9x-7y-1600=0

The equation for B=7x-3y=1600 or 7x-3y-1600=0
