Let the common ratio of the pocket money be x.
So, pocket money of Ravi = 5x
and pocket money of Sanjeev = 7x
Now, Let the common ratio of the expenditure be y.
So, expenditure of Ravi = 3y
and expenditure of Sanjeev = 5y

According to question,
5x - 3y = 80 -----------(1)
7x - 5y = 80 -----------(2)
Now, by {(1)×5} - {(2)×3}, we get
(25x - 15y) - (21x - 15y) = 400 - 240
25x - 15y - 21x + 15y = 160
25x - 21x = 160
4x = 160
x = 40 (put in (1))
(5×40) - 3y = 80
200 - 80 = 3y
120 = 3y
y = 40
So, pocket money of Ravi = 5x = 5×40 = 200
and pocket money of Sanjeev = 7x = 7×40 = 280
Also, expenditure of Ravi = 3y = 3×40 = 120
and expenditure of Sanjeev = 5y = 5×40 = 200
