The Moon appears full on a full moon day. Every night, it looks a little different and on the new moon day it cannot be seen at all. Suppose today is 19th December and the new moon day falls on 24th December.

The Moon on 21st December will look ________________.

A) bigger than tonight

B) smaller than tonight

C) same as tonight

D) bigger or smaller depending on the stars around it

Hey mate here's your answer.


The moon will be (b) smaller than tonight because if we look at the phases of moon,then according to that in the first 15 days the moon will convert to full moon from New moon and in the next 15 days the moon changes from full to new. So if today is 19st December and the 24th December is full moon day then the size of the moon will look smaller on 21th December because the size of the moon becomes full to new during the last 15 days of the month. The moon on 21th December will be crescent shaped.

Part that is bigger than tonight because as given in question on 24th December it’s new or full moon....
And it takes 15 days to reach no moon to full moon...
Hence we can examine that the moon must increasing because there is not a gap of 15 days...
Now we know that moon is increasing hence the moon on 21 December will be bigger than 19th December ...
Hence my answer is justified..
