The moon appears to be round and bright on a full moon day and we cannot see the moon on a new moon day​

The full moon is the lunar phase when the Moon appears fully illuminated from Earth's perspective. This occurs when Earth is located between the Sun and the Moon. The full moon day occurs when the sun is completely illuminating the part of the moon that is visible to the earth and thus we see the entire moon or a full illuminated circle.

The new moon is the phase that is invisible to us here on Earth because the moon is between the earth and the sun, and its illuminated side is facing away from us. ... A solar eclipse occurs when the moon moves in front of the sun, blocking it from our view on Earth. This can only happen during a new moon.

Basically, it depends upon the position of moon and Earth. This decides if we would see the fully illuminated circle or nothing at all!
