The moon does not shine because of its own light.

  • The moon cannot produce its own light therefore it reflects the light rays received by the sun due to which it shines at the night.
  • During day time also the moon shines but the light of the sun overpowers it due to which we cannot see the moon.
  • But at night time when the sun is not present, then we can see the moon due to its shine.

The moon doesn't shine on its own light.

1. The moon is not capable of producing its own light.

2. The light that we see at night is due to sun and not due to moon.

3. The surface of moon reflects the light of the sun due to which we can see the moon shinning. But actually it's the light of the sun that reaches to us at night.

4. Only 3 to 12 percent of the light from sun is reflected by the surface of the moon.
