In the middle the moon is described to be shining in the open sky. The poet says that the full moon looks beautiful.

In the end of the poem the poet says that the moon is broken into pieces like a mirror.

This is because now the trees have finally escaped the veranda into their natural habitat. They have grown there were now their large branches make the moon look broken.
