"The moon is the closest star to the earth."

This statement is completely false.

Moon is an astronomical sphere body which rotates around the earth. And it is also the only natural satellite of the earth. It can't be considered as a star because it is very small in size and can't radiate energy unlike other stars.Even it is illuminated by reflecting the sunrays.

The closest star to the earth is the sun.

That's why the statement is completely false.
