The above problem can be simply solved as follows;

Cost of 25 sq yards carpet in store A = $162.50

Cost of 1 sq yard carpet = 162.50/25

= $ 6.5

Cost of 15 sq yards = 6.5 × 15 = $ 97.5 (Equation 1)

Cost of 15 sq yards carpet = $ 100 (Equation 2)
