Because the British were taking precios materials from India and we're taking them to Britain . One more was that they were punishing the Indians.

These kinds of freedom are important because they stimulate discourse. Knowledge, truth, wisdom - all the things that we value - generally grow through discourse. On the contrary, fixed views and visions that avoid (or rely on the suppression of) discourse tend to harden and disintegrate over time. Truth evolves by living and breathing. Knowledge that is imposed in the absence of those freedoms, i.e. by power, tends to rely on that power for its sustenance, and when the power dies, the truths die with it. They cannot withstand the test of time
