Answer:

a) We disagree from this statement because men determine the sex of a baby depending on whether their sperm is carrying an X or Y chromosome. An X chromosome combines with the mother's X chromosome to make a baby girl (XX) and a Y chromosome will combine with the mother's to make a boy (XY)

b) pituitary

Q } The mother is responsible for the sex of the newborn

  • a) I do not agree with this given statement as the sex of a child depends on the chromosomes and genes in the sperms of the male , i.e. X & X chromosomes results in the reproduction of a female child and X & Y chromosomes results in the formation of a male child
  • so we conclude that tye mother is not responsible for the sex of the newborn / child

  • b) Endocrine glands are ductless glands of the endocrine system that secrete their products, hormones, directly into the blood. The major glands of the endocrine system include the pineal gland, pituitary gland, pancreas, ovaries, testes, thyroid gland, parathyroid gland, hypothalamus and adrenal glands. The hypothalamus and pituitary glands are neuroendocrine organs.
