The motion of a body can be uniform as well as non-uniform.

Non-uniform motion of a body can be accelerated or retarded. When the velocity of a body changes by equal magnitude in same direction in equal intervals of time, its motion is said to be uniformly accelerated. Similarly, when the velocity of a body changes by unequal amount in equal time intervals its motion is said to be non-uniformly accelerated.

(a) Is it necessary for a body in uniform motion to move along a straight line path? Give an example

to justify your reply.

(b) Give an example of uniformly accelerated motion. (c) What type of motion is generally observed on congested city roads in everyday life?
