The motion of the body moving with constant speed along a circular path is called uniform circular motion if the stone is moving in a circle, it must have some acceleration acting towards the centre which is making it move around the centre. i) Identify the kind of motion of the stone (a) oscillatory motion (c) uniform circular motion (b) rectilinear motion (d) non-uniform motion ii) A stone is moving in a circular path of radius r. The displacement after half a circle would be B (a) zero (b) 2r (c) πr iii) If a stone is moving at constant speed in a circular path, its (a) velocity and acceleration are both changing direction only (b) velocity is constant and its acceleration is zero (c) velocity and acceleration are both increasing (d) velocity is constant and acceleration is changing direction iv) A stone covers a semicircle of radius 7 m in 5 seconds what is it velocity? (a) 1.2 m/s (b) 3.6 m/s (c) 2.8 m/s (d) 6.3 m/s (d) 2pi * r

(I) (c) uniform circular motion.

(ii) (c) πr

(iii) (a) velocity and acceleration are both changing direction only

(iv) velocity = displacement/time

displacement will be 14 cm as radius of the circle is 7cm

time taken by the body to cover displacement= 5sec

velocity=14cm/5sec

velocity= 2.8 cm/sec
