Mouth of an inflated balloon should be closed bcz to prevent the air escaping out. This happens because the pressure in inflated balloon is high compared to the outer atmosphere so if open the mouth of inflated balloon the air in high pressure inside balloon would come to low pressure atmosphere hence ballon would became deinflated
