Given:

Frequency = 400MHz

To find:

Energy corresponds to MRI scans.

Solution:

Formula used to calculate energy for an electromagnetic radiation is-

      E = hν

here, E = energy of electromagnetic radiations

        h = Planck's constant

         ν = frequency of electromagnetic radiations

The value of Planck's constant is 6.626 × 10⁻³⁴ m²kgs⁻¹.

frequency = 400MHz = 400 × 10⁶ Hz = 400 × 10⁶ s⁻¹

Now, substitute all the values in above equation,

      E = hν

      E = 6.626 × 10⁻³⁴ × 400 × 10⁶

      E = 26.504 × 10⁻²⁶ Jmol⁻¹

     E = 26.504 × 10⁻²⁹ KJmol⁻¹

So, The energy corresponds to electromagnetic radiation is 26.504 × 10⁻²⁹ KJmol⁻¹
